STRAP: Self TRAcking for Prevention and diagnosis of heart disease

Our goal is to find heart disease earlier and or prevent heart disease. To achieve this goal, we do fundamental research with creative methods, big data and new techniques. We do this through 2 studies.

The first studies people visiting outpatient cardiology clinics. Using questionnaire models and new technologies, can patterns related to cardiac examinations and problems be discovered? A second study focuses on home assessments in a population with heart failure. We measure exercise, response to serious gaming, and use other eHealth and sensor technologies.

What data relate to cardiovascular health? Can Big Data research establish interrelationships and are they correct? How can analyses be done in a transparent way? How best to make connections? Does this require preselection?

We additionally focus on design research. How is sensor technology experienced, and continuous tracking? We also investigate how healthcare data should be presented to a healthcare provider. The question here is not only how to feed data back to end users, but also how data can be presented to care staff. Understanding needs of healthcare personnel is being analysed and research is also needed on valuation of representation of data.

In summary, we are looking for the fundamental depth, what can, what is allowed, what works, how do we reach care staff, how do we reach an older population?
