Realtime ict for logistics

NWO invites researchers and industry partners to jointly submit a consortium application for the research programme Big Data: real time ICT for logistics.

The call is divided into two compartments. Compartment 1 focuses on the issues surrounding a collective infrastructure. In compartment 2 the focus is on research into the big data challenges in the logistics sector. Both compartments together form the Big Data programme: real time ICT for logistics.

What for

Big Data: real time ICT for Logistics focuses on innovative and scientific research that enables innovative applications in the logistics sector in the field of big data. The need for ICT solutions within the logistics sector is broad and diverse. Research groups, in cooperation with the business community, can submit project proposals for the following two components:

  • Compartment 1: the development of a blueprint in which solutions are offered for fundamental issues concerning the use of shared infrastructure.
  • Compartment 2: Conducting research on challenges in big data within logistics

Both compartments are complementary to each other. Research projects in these compartments should reinforce each other. Exchange of knowledge and expertise is highly recommended.

For Whom

An application can be submitted by the lead applicant on behalf of a consortium with at least several researchers from one or different knowledge institution(s) and at least one public or private partner.

The lead applicant is an experienced PhD researcher with a permanent appointment, or a temporary appointment at a Dutch university or a research institute recognised by NWO during at least the duration of the application process and the project.

Researchers employed by the TO2 organisation may participate in both compartments as co-applicants in the consortium, but are given the opportunity to submit an application as lead applicant in compartment 1.
